In the beginning there were two abstracts. The first was the mother, the light from which sprang all of creation, and the second was the shadow, the darkness which consumes the light the entity many called death. 

Not many know that the mother however, created a third abstract destined to walk the line between the light and dark ensuring her creations, the very beings that cling to life in this universe, don't wander too far into the shadow until it is their fated time. She gave this entity a name... she called him FEAR.

For centuries fear performed its task well, it would appear to any sentient creature in a moment of terror as the thing they fear most, forcing their primal response to fight the dark or run to the safety of the light.

It wasn't until the rise of humans, that fear's purpose was corrupted. 

As human society grew so did their obsession with the macabre eventually leading to the rise of horror media. Humans, drawn by the adrenaline of being scared began their descent into fear as entertainment and as such he was summoned again and again but without purpose. 

It was maddening and so fear took a new form, an avatar of terror to more closely study humans, abducting them into a nightmare of their own creation. Where he would subject them to the treatment they had found so entertaining appearing as nightmarish apparitions of their greatest fears or simply as a scarecrow...  in the hope of understanding... Why... Why must humans continue to summon him again and again.

Legends spread of the Avatar of Terror, the Scarecrow Slasher and then the broadcasts started. Movies... made from those who had been abducted, experiencing the terror in a never ending horror movie, and those who watched... were next.
